How to prevent moisture condensation
When you bring your camcorder from a cold
place into a warm place, put your camcorder in a
plastic bag and tightly seal it. Remove the bag
when the air temperature inside the plastic bag
has reached the surrounding temperature (after
about 1 hour).
Maintenance information
Cleaning the video head
To ensure normal recording, clear pictures and
sound, clean the video head. The video head may
be dirty when:
– Mosaic-pattern noise appears on the playback
picture.
– Playback pictures do not move.
– Playback pictures do not appear or the sound
breaks off.
– The x indicator and “ CLEANING
CASSETTE” message appear one after another
or the x indicator flashes on the screen during
recording.
If the above problem, [a], [b] or [c] occurs, clean
the video heads for 10 seconds with the Sony
DVM-12CLD cleaning cassette (optional). Check
the picture and if the above problem persists,
repeat cleaning.
If the video heads become very dirty, the entire
screen becomes blue [c].
Note on the video head
The video head suffers from wear after long use.
If you cannot obtain a clear image even after
using a cleaning cassette, it might be because the
video head is worn. Please contact your Sony
dealer or local authorised Sony service facility to
have the video head replaced.

Comment prévenir la formation de
condensation
Lorsque vous transportez votre caméscope d’un
endroit froid à un endroit chaud, placez le
caméscope dans un sac plastique et fermez bien
celui-ci. Sortez le caméscope du sac lorsque la
température de l’air à l’intérieur du sac a atteint
la température ambiante (au bout de 1 heure
environ).

Nettoyage de la tête vidéo
Pour assurer un enregistrement normal du son et
des images nettes, nettoyez la tête vidéo. La tête
vidéo peut être sale lorsque :
– Des parasites en mosaïque apparaissent sur
l’image en lecture.
– Les images en lecture ne bougent pas.
– Les images en lecture n’apparaissent pas ou le
son est haché.
– L’indicateur x et le message « CLEANING
CASSETTE » s’affichent l’un après l’autre à
l’écran ou l’indicateur x clignote à l’écran
pendant l’enregistrement.
Si le problème [a], [b] ou [c] ci-dessous se
produit, nettoyez les têtes vidéo pendant
10 secondes avec la cassette de nettoyage DVM-
12CLD Sony (en option). Vérifiez l’image et si le
problème indiqué ci-dessous persiste,
recommencez le nettoyage.
Si les têtes vidéo deviennent très sales, l’écran
entier devient bleu [c].
Remarque sur la tête vidéo
La tête vidéo s’use en fonction de l’intensité
d’usage. Si vous ne parvenez pas à obtenir une
image claire après l’emploi de la cassette de
nettoyage, il se peut que la tête vidéo soit usée.
Contactez votre revendeur Sony ou un centre de
service après-vente Sony agréé pour remplacer la
tête vidéo.
