Using Floppy Disk Drives

You can connect a floppy disk drive to your computer, port replicator, or docking

station. The floppy disk drive enables you to read data stored on a floppy disk.

Inserting and removing floppy disks

Floppy disks are portable devices that store data. To protect your floppy disks,

keep them away from magnets and direct sunlight or other heat sources.

To insert a floppy disk

1 Hold the floppy disk with the label facing up.

2 Push the floppy disk into the drive until it clicks into place.

To remove a floppy disk

1 Close all programs that were opened from the disk and wait for the LED

indicator to turn off.

2 Push the Eject button, and remove the disk.

✍ Do not open the shutter manually and touch the surface of the floppy disk.
