Using Video Phone
Making and Receiving a Video Call
Making a Call
A video call is a two-part process:
1 Use the Communication Center to establish a voice call and converse
with the other party using your computer's speakers and
microphone,
2 Use Video Phone to add video to the voice call.
To make a call
1 Use the Communication Center to call the other party.
2 When the other party answers, tell the party that you'd like to
exchange video.
3 Either you or the other party should start the video phone
application.
To avoid unsuccessful connections, make sure that only one caller (you or your party)
starts Video Phone. For best results, one party should start Video Phone and the
other party should wait for the message" Incoming Video Detected." When the
receiving party clicks ACCEPT, Video Phone starts automatically and the Video Phone
-sessiorr is successfully established.
While the video is connecting, voice communication may be suspended for up to a
minute. After the video connection is established, you can resume your conversation.
Once the video session is established, you see the other party’s video
in the Guest Video window in Video Phone.
^ If the other party is using the Receive-Only version of the Video Phone application, you
won't see the other party in the Guest Video window.
