Positionnement des enceintes ()

Chaque enceinte doit être orientée face à la position d’écoute. Vous obtiendrez un

meilleur effet surround si toutes les enceintes sont installées à la même distance de la

position d’écoute.

Placez les enceintes de la manière suivante :

Enceintes avant : distance convenable à gauche et à droite du téléviseur

Caisson de graves : côté quelconque du téléviseur

Enceinte centrale : devant le téléviseur. Vous pouvez retirer les tampons de pieds de

l’enceinte centrale pour adapter celle-ci à votre environnement d’écoute ().

Enceintes surround : selon la configuration de la pièce. Les enceintes surround

peuvent être placées légèrement derrière la position d’écoute.

Assemblage

Fixation des tampons de pieds ()

Pour empêcher le caisson de graves de vibrer ou de bouger pendant l’écoute, fixez les

tampons de pieds fournis au caisson de graves.

Installation des enceintes au mur ()

Vous pouvez installer les enceintes avant, centrale et surround au mur.

Avant cela, raccordez le cordon d’enceinte à l’enceinte.

Préparez les vis (non fournies) qui conviennent au trou situé à l’arrière

des enceintes.

Fixez les vis au mur. Celles-ci doivent être saillantes de 8 mm à 10 mm

(

po à

po).

Accrochez les enceintes aux vis.

Remarques



Utilisez des vis qui conviennent au matériau et à la résistance du mur. Un mur composé de

plaques de plâtre étant particulièrement fragile, fixez les vis fermement à une poutre, puis

fixez celle-ci au mur. Lorsqu’un renforcement est utilisé, installez les enceintes sur un mur

vertical et plat.



Contactez un vendeur de vis ou un installateur pour connaître le matériau de votre mur ou

les vis à utiliser.



Sony décline toute responsabilité en cas d’accident ou de dommages provoqués par une

installation incorrecte, la résistance insuffisante du mur ou la mauvaise fixation des vis

installation, une catastrophe naturelle, etc.



Si vous installez les enceintes avant et surround au mur, vous n’avez pas besoin de fixer le

support d’enceinte fourni.

Installation des enceintes sur le support d’enceinte fourni ()

Vous pouvez installer les enceintes avant et surround sur le support d’enceinte fourni.

Pour SA-VS310, installez l’enceinte avant sur le support au sol et l’enceinte surround

sur le support de bureau.

Pour SA-VS110, installez les enceintes avant et surround sur le support de bureau.

Enfilez le cordon d’enceinte à travers le trou situé au bas du support au

sol ou du support de bureau.

Raccordez les cordons d’enceinte aux bornes situées au bas de l’enceinte.

Fixez l’enceinte au support au sol ou au support de bureau, puis resserrez

les vis (fournies).

Remarque

Pour éviter d’endommager le sol, étendez un chiffon dessus.

Raccordement du système ()

Assurez-vous d’éteindre l’ampli-tuner et le caisson de graves avant d’effectuer le

moindre raccordement.

Raccordez les enceintes avant, centrale et surround aux bornes de sortie des enceintes

de l’ampli-tuner et utilisez la prise LINE IN du caisson de graves pour effectuer le

raccordement à l’ampli-tuner.

Remarques ()



Vérifiez que les bornes plus (+) et moins (–) des enceintes correspondent aux bornes plus

(+) et moins (–) de l’ampli-tuner.



Vérifiez que tous les raccordements sont fermement effectués. Un contact entre les fils nus

des enceintes au niveau des bornes d’enceintes peut provoquer un court-circuit.



Raccordez le cordon d’alimentation secteur du caisson de graves à une prise murale.



Pour plus d’informations sur les raccordements de l’ampli-tuner, reportez-vous au mode

d’emploi fourni avec ce dernier.

Conseil

Les fils dénudés noirs correspondent à la polarité négative (–) et doivent être raccordés aux

bornes moins (–) des enceintes.

Réglage de l’ampli-tuner

Lorsque vous raccordez un ampli-tuner qui intègre des décodeurs multicanaux

internes, vous devez utiliser les menus de configuration de l’ampli-tuner pour spécifier

les paramètres de votre système d’enceintes.

1. Réglez la taille des enceintes.

Pour connaître les réglages appropriés, consultez le tableau ci-dessous. Pour plus

d’informations sur la procédure de réglage, reportez-vous au mode d’emploi fourni

avec l’ampli-tuner.

2. Réglez la fréquence de recouvrement.

Si vous utilisez un ampli-tuner avec une fréquence de recouvrement réglable, nous vous

recommandons de sélectionner 90 Hz (ou la valeur la plus proche de cette fréquence)

comme fréquence de recouvrement de vos enceintes avant, centrale et surround.

Utilisation du caisson de graves ()

Vous pouvez ajuster le son du caisson de graves au son des autres enceintes.

Le renforcement des graves donne une atmosphère plus intense.

Panneau avant

Indicateur POWER

S’allume en vert lorsque le caisson de graves est sous tension.

S’allume en rouge lorsque le caisson de graves est en mode d’économie d’énergie.

Panneau arrière

Le réglage par défaut de LEVEL, CUT OFF FREQ, PHASE et POWER SAVE est illustré

dans la figure .

POWER

Met le caisson de graves sous tension.

LEVEL

Tournez pour régler le volume du caisson de graves. Pour augmenter le volume,

tournez la commande dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre. Pour baisser le volume,

tournez la commande dans le sens contraire des aiguilles d’une montre.

Nous vous recommandons de régler le volume sur la position illustrée ci-dessous. Vous

pouvez cependant régler le volume pour obtenir les graves qui conviennent en fonction

de votre environnement d’écoute.

Pour écouter un son de qualité supérieure, n’augmentez pas le volume du caisson de

graves trop haut.

CUT OFF FREQ

Ajustez CUT OFF FREQ en fonction de vos préférences sonores.

Le réglage par défaut de CUT OFF FREQ est indiqué ci-dessous. Vous pouvez ajuster le

réglage du caisson de graves de sorte qu’il correspond à celui des autres enceintes à

l’aide de cette fonction.

Pour tirer le meilleur parti de la fonction du convertisseur de niveau

bas

Lors de la lecture de signaux audio LFE, Dolby digital ou DTS, nous vous

recommandons de régler la commande CUT OFF FREQ sur 200 Hz (maximum) pour

obtenir les meilleures performances de la fonction du convertisseur de niveau bas.

PHASE

Faites glisser pour sélectionner la polarité de phase NORMAL ou REVERSE.

Le changement de la polarité de phase peut permettre une meilleure reproduction des

graves dans certains environnements d’écoute (selon la position du caisson de graves et

le réglage de la fréquence de coupure).

L’amplitude et l’étroitesse du son et affecter la sensation du champ sonore.

Sélectionnez le réglage qui offre le son que vous préférez lorsque vous êtes à votre

position d’écoute normale.

POWER SAVE (fonction de mise sous/hors tension automatique)

Le réglage par défaut de POWER SAVE est AUTO. Lorsque le caisson de graves est

allumé et aucun signal n’est reçu en entrée pendant quelques minutes, l’indicateur

POWER devient rouge et le caisson de graves bascule en mode d’économie d’énergie.

Toutefois, si le caisson de graves reçoit en entrée un signal, il s’allume

automatiquement.

Pour désactiver cette fonction, faites glisser POWER SAVE sur OFF. Le caisson de

graves reste allumé.

Positioning the speakers ()

Each speaker should face the listening position. Better surround effect will result if all

speakers are set at the same distance from the listening position.

Place the speakers as follows:

Front speakers: suitable distance to the left and right of the television

Subwoofer: on either side of the television

Center speaker: in front of the television. You may detach the center speaker foot pads

to suit your listening environment ().

Surround speakers: depends on the configuration of the room. The surround speakers

may be placed slightly behind the listening position.

Assembly

Attaching the foot pads ()

To prevent subwoofer vibration or movement while listening, attach the supplied foot

pads to the subwoofer.

Installing the speakers on the wall ()

You can install the front, center and surround speakers on the wall.

Before install the speakers on the wall, connect the speaker cord to the speaker.

Prepare screws (not supplied) that are suitable for the hole on the back of

the speakers.

Fasten the screws to the wall. The screws should protrude 8 mm to

10 mm (

in. to

in.).

Hang the speakers on the screws.

Notes



Use screws that are suitable for the wall material and strength. As a plaster board wall is

especially fragile, attach the screws securely to a beam and fasten them to the wall. Install

the speakers on a vertical and flat wall where reinforcement is applied.



Contact a screw shop or installer regarding the wall material or screws to be used.



Sony is not responsible for accident or damage caused by improper installation, insufficient

wall strength or improper screw installation, natural calamity, etc.



If you install the front and surround speakers on the wall, you do not need to attach the

supplied speaker stand.

Installing the speakers on the supplied speaker stand ()

You can install the front and surround speakers on the supplied speaker stand.

For SA-VS310, install the front speaker on the floor stand and the surround speaker on

the desktop stand.

For SA-VS110, install the front and surround speaker on the desktop stand.

Thread the speaker cord through the hole in the bottom of the floor

stand or the desktop stand.

Connect the speaker cords to the speaker terminals on the bottom of the

speaker.

Attach the speaker to the floor stand or the desktop stand, then secure

with the screw (supplied).

Note

Spread a cloth on the floor to avoid damaging the floor.

Hooking up the system ()

Be sure to turn off the power of the amplifier and the subwoofer before making any

connection.

Connect the front, center, and the surround speakers to the speaker output terminals of

an amplifier and use the LINE IN jack of the subwoofer to connect to the amplifier.

Notes ()



Make sure the plus (+) and the minus (–) terminals on the speakers are matched to the

corresponding plus (+) and minus (–) terminals on the amplifier.



Make sure all connections are firm. Contact between bare speaker wires at the speaker

terminals may cause a short-circuit.



Connect the AC power cord from the subwoofer to a wall outlet.



For details on the amplifier connections, refer to the operating instructions supplied with

the amplifier.

Tip

Black striped wires are minus (–) in polarity, and should be connected to the minus (–)

speaker terminals.

Setting the amplifier

When connecting to an amplifier with internal multi channel decoders, you should use

the setup menus for the amplifier to specify the parameters of your speaker system.

1. Set the speaker size.

See the table below for the proper settings. For details on the setting procedure, refer to

the operating instructions supplied with the amplifier.

2. Set the crossover frequency.

If you use an amplifier with adjustable crossover frequency, we recommend that you

select 90 Hz (or close to this figure) as the crossover frequency for your front, center, and

surround speakers.

Using the subwoofer ()

You can adjust the sound of the subwoofer to suit the sound of the other speakers.

Reinforcing the bass sound gives you a greater sense of atmosphere.

POWER indicator

Lights up green when the subwoofer is on.

Lights up red when the subwoofer is in power saving mode.

Rear panel

The default setting for LEVEL, CUT OFF FREQ, PHASE, and POWER SAVE is shown

on the illustration .

POWER

Turns on the subwoofer.

LEVEL

Rotate to adjust the subwoofer volume. To increase the volume, turn the control

clockwise. To reduce the volume, turn the control counterclockwise.

We recommend that you set the volume to the position as shown below. However, you

can adjust the volume to obtain the suitable bass according to your listening

environment.

To enjoy high-quality sound, do not turn the subwoofer volume too high.

CUT OFF FREQ

Adjust the CUT OFF FREQ according to your sound preference.

The default setting for CUT OFF FREQ is shown below. You can adjust the matching of

the subwoofer and the other speakers by using this function.

To make the most of the low level converter function

When playing back the sound of LFE signals, Dolby digital, or DTS, we recommend to

set the CUT OFF FREQ control to 200Hz (maximum) to obtain the best performance

from the low level converter function.

PHASE

Slide to select NORMAL or REVERSE phase polarity.

Switching the phase polarity may provide better bass reproduction in certain listening

environments (depending on the position of the subwoofer and the adjustment of the

cut-off frequency).

It may also change the expanse and tightness of sound, and affect the feeling of the

sound field.

Select the setting that provides the sound you prefer when listening in your normal

listening position.

POWER SAVE (Auto power on/off function)

The default setting for POWER SAVE is AUTO. When the subwoofer is on and there is

no signal input for a few minutes, the POWER indicator changes to red and the

subwoofer enters power saving mode. However, if a signal is input to the subwoofer, the

subwoofer turns on automatically.

To deactivate this function, slide POWER SAVE to OFF. The subwoofer remains on.
