Preparations A

To Insert Battery

1 Slide and open the battery compartment

lid, and insert one R6 (size AA) dry battery

with correct polarity.

Replace the battery with new one when “ ”

flashes in the display.

To attach the battery

compartment lid, if it is

accidentally detached

Attcach it as illustrated.

Playing a Tape B

1 If the HOLD function is turned on, slide

the HOLD switch in the opposite direction

of the G mark on the main unit or the

arrow on the remote control to unlock the

controls.

2 Insert a cassette.

3 Press Y (play)•DIRECTION on the main

unit, or if using the remote control, press

Y (play)•x (stop).

Adjust the volume with VOL.

When adjusting the volume on the Walkman

Set the VOL control on the remote control at

maximum.

When adjusting the volume on the remote control

Set the VOL control on the Walkman slightly above

the appropriate level.

Note on the cassette holder

When opening the cassette holder, press the x button

and make sure the tape is stopped by checking

through the cassette window, then slide the OPEN

switch.

If the cassette holder is opened before the tape is

stopped, the tape may loosen and be damaged.

Operation on the main unit

Press MENU repeatedly to set the cursor to MODE

in the display.

Then press SET to select the desired mode.

Using Other Functions

To lock the controls

Set the HOLD switch to the direction of the G mark

on the main unit or the arrow on the remote control

to lock the controls.

To emphasize bass sound

Press MENU repeatedly to set the cursor to MB

(MEGA BASS) in the display. Then, press SET to

show “z”. With each press, the indications change

as follows.

z : emphasizes bass sound (MEGA BASS)

No message: off (normal)

Notes

•If the sound is distorted with the mode “MB”, turn

down the volume of the main unit or select normal

mode.

•Bass emphasis may not show great effect if the volume

is turned up too high.

To protect your hearing—AVLS

(Automatic Volume Limiter System)

When you set the AVLS function to active, the

maximum volume is kept down to protect your ears.

Press MENU repeatedly to set the cursor to AVLS in

the display. Then press SET to show “z”.

Note

The AVLS function will be cancelled when you replace

the battery.

Listening to the Radio B

1 If the HOLD function is turned on, slide the

HOLD switch in the opposite direction of

the G mark on the main unit or the arrow

on the remote control to unlock the controls.

Make sure that the tape has stopped

completely.

2 Press FM or AM to select the desired band

and to turn on the radio.

3 Press PRESET/TUNING + or – to tune in to

the desired station.

If the signal is strong, you can scan for

stations. Press MENU repeatedly to set the

cursor in the display to TUNE MODE and

press SET to display “MANUAL”. Then

hold down PRESET/TUNING + or – for a

few seconds.

To turn off the radio

Press x•RADIO OFF.

To improve broadcast reception C

•For FM: Extend the remote control cord (antenna).

If the reception is still not good, press MENU

repeatedly to set the cursor in the display to FM

MODE. Then press SET to switch between

“LOCAL” and none (DX), or “MONO” and none

(stereo) for best reception.

•For AM: Reorient the unit itself.

1 如果 HOLD 功能打开着，即请相反于主机上

2 装入盒带。

3 按主机上的 Y （放音）•DIRECTION 键，

如果使用遥控器，按 Y（放音）•x（停

止）键。

用 VOL 控制旋钮调整音量。

调整 Walkman 的音量时

将遥控器上的 VOL 控制旋钮设至最大。

调整遥控器的音量时

把 Walkman 上的 VOL（音量）控制设定略高于适当电

平。

盒带架须知

要打开盒带架时，请按 x（停止）按钮并通过盒带窗确认

磁带确已停止了，然后才滑动 OPEN 开关。

如果在磁带尚未停止就打开盒带架，磁带可能松弛、受

损。

使用其他功能

要锁定控制器时

沿着主机上的 G 标志方向或遥控器上的箭头方向

滑动 HOLD 开关锁定控制器。

要增强低音时

反复按 MENU，在显示器中把游标设定於 MB

(MEGA BASS)。然后按 SET（设定）使显示“z”。

每按一次按钮，指示将作如下变化。

z：增强低音 (MEGA BASS)

无提示：关掉模式（正常）

注

•“MB”模式时，如果声音失真，可转小主机的音量或改

选正常模式。

•如果音量太大，低音增强效果可能不显著。

保护听觉—AVLS（自动音量限制系统）

当激活 AVLS 功能时，最大音量即受较小声的限

制以保护您的听力。

反复按 MENU，在显示器中把游标设定於

AVLS。然后按 SET（设定）使显示“z”。

注

更换电池时，AVLS 设定将被解除。

收听无线电广播 B

1 如果 HOLD 功能打开着，即请相反于主机上

的 G 标志方向或遥控器上的箭头方向滑动

HOLD 开关解锁控制器。

确认磁带已完全停止。

2 按 FM 或 AM 以选择所要的波段并打开收音

机。

3 按 PRESET/TUNING + 或 – 以调入所要的电

台。

信号够强时，可以扫描电台。请反复按

MENU 把显示器中的光标设定于 TUNE

MODE，按 SET 使显示“MANUAL”，然

后按住 PRESET/TUNING +/– 数秒。

要关掉收音机时

请按 x•RADIO OFF。

改善广播接收状况 C

•对于 FM：伸长遥控器线（天线）。如果接收依然不

良，请反复按 MENU 将显示窗中游标设定于 FM

MODE。然后按 SET 以选择“LOCAL”和无

(DX)，或“MONO（单声道）”和无（立体声）中最

佳的接收。

•对于 AM：重新定向本机。
