How to use
Charging
Before use, be sure to charge the battery with the specified charger. During
charging, LEDs will light one by one in order via “Check Charging.”
LEDs are lit until normal charge is completed (more than 90%) (They cannot
be put out partway through charging). The LEDs are not lit from normal
charge completed through fully charged. The battery will be fully charged
about 1 hour after normal charge is completed.
The charging lamp of the camcorder (which has a charging lamp) goes out
when fully charged or normal charge is done.
* For details, please see the operating instructions of your camcorder.
We recommend charging the battery pack in an ambient temperature of
between 10°C to 30°C (50°F to 86°F). If you charge the battery outside of this
temperature range, you may not be able to efficiently charge the battery
pack.
PNote
When charging the battery after it has not been used for a long period of time,
the LEDs may not light immediately after the start of charging or during
charging; this is not a malfunction.
To check the remaining battery capacity
Indicates the remaining capacity of the battery via 4 LEDs.
When the Check Capacity button (PUSH) C is pushed, LED D lights for
about 3 seconds.
PNote
1. When using an AC adapter/charger with an LCD (e.g. AC-VQ850/SQ950),
the battery pack’s LEDs do not light up during charging even if you press
the PUSH button C. Check the remaining time on the AC adapter/
charger’s LCD.
2. When the battery pack is installed in an “InfoLITHIUM”-compatible
camcorder and used (including for charging), the battery pack’s LEDs do
not light up during charging even if you press the PUSH button C. Check
the remaining time on the camcorder's LCD.
3. The battery level displayed on the camcorder may not be the same as the
battery level indicated by the battery pack’s LEDs. They should both only
be used as a rough guide.
Remaining battery time indicator
When charging in a battery charger (BC-VM50 or the like), pushing C will
cause the LED to light.
When a VIDEO LIGHT (HVL-20DM, HVL-IRM or the like) is in use,
pushing C will cause the LED to light.
Effective use of the battery pack
Battery pack performance decreases in low-temperature surroundings. So,
the time that the battery pack can be used is shorter in cold places. We
recommend the following to use longer:
Put the battery pack in a pocket to warm it up, and insert it in your
electronic equipment immediately before you start taking shots.
Actively turn off the power switch during shooting or replay. Battery
power is consumed even when in shooting standby or paused replay.
Have spare battery handy for two or three times the expected recording
time, and make trial recording before taking the actual recording.
How to store the battery pack
If the battery pack is not to be used for a long time, do the following
procedure once per year to maintain proper function.
1. Fully charge the battery.
2. Discharge on your electronic equipment.
3. Remove the battery from the equipment and store it in a dry, cool place.
Battery life
The battery life is limited. Battery capacity drops little by little as you use it
more and more, and as battery has reached the end of its life. Please buy a
new battery.
The battery life varies according to how it is stored and operating conditions
and environment for each battery.
No compensation for contents of the recording
Contents of the recording cannot be compensated for if recording or playback
is not possible due to a malfunction of the battery pack or other devices.
