Changing titles
You can change names of artists, albums and tracks
in the HDD.
Notes

This unit can display languages other than English;
however, only English text (alphanumeric characters
and symbols) can be input.

Audio data stored on the HDD are listed in alphabetical
order. Therefore, if you change the name of an
artist, album, or track, the order of the audio data is
automatically changed.

You cannot edit the title (artist name, album name, or
track name) of a factory-installed sample data (Demo
Track).

While the unit is in the HDD function,
press OPTIONS.

Press / to select “Name Edit, and
then press ENTER.

Press / to select the item whose
title you want to change, and then
press ENTER.
Do one of the following.

To change an artist name:
Select the artist whose name you want to
change, and then select “Artist ?”.

To change an album name:
Select the artist whose album name you
want to change, select the album, and then
select “Album ?”.

To change a track name:
Select the artist whose track name you
want to change, select the album that
contains the track, and then select the
track.
You can enter up to 64 characters for an artist
or album name, and up to 60 characters for a
track name.

Enter the title.

text” (page 54).

To cancel changing a title
Press .
Tip
If you transfer tracks with ID3 tag information to a
“WALKMAN”, the “WALKMAN” will be able to display
the ID3 tag information, but not the titles that have been
added using this name editing function.
If you encounter incorrect ID3 tag information, do one of
the following operations to update the information, and
then transfer the audio data to the “WALKMAN”.

Use the “Title Updater” software to update the title
information (page 49).

Record the audio CD to the HDD again. At the time
you insert the CD, the “Title Data Searching” results
will be displayed (page 35). Select “No Match, and then
record the CD to the HDD. After you have finished
recording, use the name editing function to add titles
(this page).
