Troubleshooting
If you run into any problems using this system, use the following checklist. Should any problem
persist, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
General
Symptom Cause and remedy
The power cannot be
turned on.
Connect the AC power cord securely to the AC IN terminal and outlet.
The unit will not work by the clock batteries only. Use the AC power cord.

Auto Standby” activated because no sound was input for approx. 20 minutes.
Turn on the processor again.
Cannot hear sound from
this unit.
Confirm that the desired functions are displayed.
Adjust the volume.
To listen via the speakers, disconnect your headphones.
Check that the sound source is the desired one.
There is noise.
Someone is using a cellular phone (or other equipment that emits radio waves)
near the unit.
Move the cellular phone, etc., away from the unit.
CD
Symptom Cause and remedy
Playback does not start.
Check that the CD lid is closed.
“No disc” is displayed,
although a CD is inserted.
The CD is upside-down.
Place the CD with the label surface facing up.
The CD is dirty.
Clean the CD.
Moisture condensation has accumulated on the lens.
Remove the CD, and leave the CD lid open for about an hour to allow the
moisture condensation to evaporate.
There are no playable audio files on the CD-R/CD-RW.
A CD-R/CD-RW which is not finalized (processed for playback on other CD
players) cannot be played.
Whether a CD-R/CD-RW disc can be played depends on the disc condition
and the device used to record it.
